What is  architecture?

This is a question often posed by professionals seeking a definition to the practice and a topic of heated discussion and disagreement. For some architecture is a science (physics)  involving math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry and calculus) as its language (in loose terms) and for others it is an art expressed through three dimensional form.  I believe it is all of the above not as single entities of focus but as a choreographed dance of the players in harmony to create full expression above the mundane where the whole is far greater than the sum of the parts.
